TROPICAL STORM KUJIRA PUBLIC DISCUSSION NUMBER 15

WIKI-HURRICANES FORECASTING CENTER

6:00 PM JST WED JUN 24 2015

Tropical Storm Kujira has moved inland this afternoon. The intensity of landfall has been set at a generous 45 knts at around 0500 UTC, since estimates never supported anything higher, though I would not be surprised if the winds were a little higher. An inland decay rate supports cutting the initial intensity to 35 knts. The forecast track is an update from the previous advisory. The new forecast shows a faster weakening rate than the old, and has Kujira ceasing to exist at this time tomorrow.
